Non solo guida

In this section you’ll find ideas for personalising your holiday; if you have ideas of your own, don't hesitate to tell me what they are and I’ll help you to make your dreams come true.
Bike hire
City tours by bike have become common as a way of reducing pollution and noise. For many years now, the tourism office in Lucca has been hiring out bikes, mountain bikes and city bikes for adults with a child seat. In Pisa you can hire a small pedal car with a sunshade and a basket for children or... pets! In Pontedera and Florence, bikes are very cheap to hire and you can pick them up and drop them off wherever you want in the city (but you’d be better taking a bus if you’re going up the hill to Piazza Michelangelo or the Church of San Miniato!) Ask me for more details and I’ll send you the necessary links.
Scooter hire
Here’s a very stylish way to get round outside towns. You can go to the splendid Romanesque Basilica San Piero a Grado in Pisa, near the sea, or to Volterra or visit the medieval villages in the Era Valley. In Lucca it’s interesting to visit the beautiful country houses or sample the local products in one of the many farmhouses. In Florence you can go the Carthusian monastery or the Etruscan town of Fiesole, or one of the Medici villas in the countryside. There are possibilities in every town and city. Ask me and I’ll give you the necessary links.
By boat
For a different view of Pisa, you can go on board a local boat. This service is available in Pisa all the year round and in Pontedera in the summer. From this boat you can see how the architecture of the façades of the riverside palazzos evolved. From Pisa you can also go to the San Rossore Natural Park where you can relax in the countryside on horseback or bike, or simply walk along the beautiful beaches.
The tourist train
This is a new way to discover Pisa. The tourist train picks you up at the car park and takes you to the centre of the city by the river in 30 minutes, and will stop at your restaurant or in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Ask me for more information.
Gastronomic excursions
During years and years on the roads in Tuscany and Italy, I’ve sampled wines, cheeses, honey, olive oil, pesto, focaccia, homemade pastas, truffles... and I’d love to combine a cultural tour with a gastronomic one, with typical, local products, in partnership with a Tour Operator.
Private chauffeured car
For your comfort, I can drive you to your destinations or make simple transfers to the airport, station or hotels. You don't have to worry about driving, especially after a wine-tasting. Ask me for a free quotation.
Sports activities
Do you like active holidays? In Tuscany there are infinite possibilities for people who don’t want a quiet life. You can fly over the Era Valley from the little airport in Capannoli, go snorkelling or diving near Livorno on the Island of Elba or in the Cinque Terre, fly by balloon over the Chianti hills, go hiking at all levels, ride horses, even go skiing... I’ll be happy to give you all the contacts.
